Poor thyroid functio: High TSH indicated your brain is telling your thyroid to work better. You should have your free T4, free T3, (liothyronine) Reverse T3, (liothyronine) thyroglobulin and TPO antibodies checked to ensure that your thyroid is working, that your tissues are adequately getting thyroid (T3), and your immune system is not attacking and burning out your thyroid.

High TSH: Hi. In almost all cases, a high TSH means you are hypothyroid. The most common cause is Hashimoto's (autoimmune lymphocytic thyroiditis). There are other less common cases, some self limited. But most cases need thyroid hormone replacement for life. You'll do fine. Good luck!
