Glycemic index.: That to which you infer is the glycemic index, which is an indicator of the simplicity of a carbohydrate source. Bananas have a high GI, and behave more like a simple sugar. Apples, blueberries, cranberries and strawberries have a low GI, behaving more like complex carbohydrates.
