1 in 4 million: For parents who have never has a child with progeria. It is a "sporadic autosomal dominant" mutation-sporadic because it is a new change in that family-dominant since only 1 copy of the gene needs to be change in order to have the syndrome.

Progeria: A Dutch study indicated an incidence of 1 in 20 million births. Other studies have indicated 1 in every 4 to 8 million births.
