A member asked:

My whole family has been sick with allergies. typical allergy stuff until yesterday my right ear has a pain and my tragus feels numb (or full). fluid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: The symptoms of ear fullness and tragus pain are not typical allergy symptoms. Typical allergy symptoms would be nasal drainage, congestion, scratchy throat, postnasal drip, itchy, red, watery eyes. Ear fullness may be caused by an ear infection or raised pressure in the eustacian tube connecting the nose with the middle ear, which sometimes can be caused by allergies but not necessarily.
