A member asked:

When i straighten myself up (meaning my back and shoulders) my veins expand; they become a lot more visible on my arms and hands, and feel more tense?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Venous pattern: This venous observation may not be significant unless the veins remain distended when your arms are elevated at shoulder height. If they don't empty at that level, then some sort of obstruction could be present. Have your physician check you if there is any doubt about persistent distended veins in your upper extremities.
