You should: Depression is a serious medical illness, not a sign of weakness. Depression may require long-term treatment, but the good news it is treatable. Major symptoms are of sadness, tiredness and loss of interest. We don't know what causes depression. Rec.: see your pcp for more information and referral to psychiatrist.

Weight loss: depression can cause loss of appetite, weight loss, but it will not explain blood in toilet paper; hemorroid, colorectal cancer can cause colorectal bleeding, although at age 22, it is less likely for someone to develop colon malignancy, but it is not impossible, need to see a primary care doctor for complete work up, beside seing a psychiatry for depression
