GA drugs: General anesthesia=unconsciousness. Anesthetic agents commonly used with a ga are propofol, ketamine. Any anesthetic/sedative/opioid regardless of route of administration can be a general anesthetic (can cause unconsciousness). Hope it helps.

Primarily propofol: There are several IV meds but none have the "complete" profile for propofol as it has many characteristics needed for general anesthesia: amnesia, hypnosis and pain reliever.
