See a cardiologist: Chest pain could be cardiac, esophageal or musculoskeletal. Because you have a family hx of heart issues, cardiac problems need to be ruled out- so first see a cardiologist to make sure no cardiac problem exists- rest can be taken care by your pmd.

Rule out MI: Ruling out a cardiac event (myocardial infarction or heart attack) should be done first. Other considerations include: pulmonary embolism or aortic dissection. I would recommend that you be seen in an emergency room as soon as possible.
