Growing Pains: These pains are called "growing pains" because they occur during growth spurts. Tendons and ligaments don't stretch well so when a child grows quickly this can cause some discomfort. The pain is where the tendons attach it is usually just above or below the knee. No limping or pain during the day, just at night. Can be either or both legs and more activity during the day means more pain at night, .
