Muscle tear ?: Your injury may have involved more than an anterior cruciate ligament, and resulted in a torn muscle or ligament in the thigh, which may protrude visibly when the knee is bent. See an orthopedic surgeon who may order a CT scan or MRI to diagnose the problem.
