Can a ct scan of the abdomen and pelvis detect ovarian, cervical, uterine and colon cancer? can it also detect fibroid?

Pelvic imaging: Ct scans can visualize pelvic organs, such as the uterus and ovaries. I would suggest a pelvic ultrasound as a first step in evaluating the female pelvis. As far as imaging the colon, a specialized ct, called virtual colonoscopy, can be performed. However endoscopic examination of the colon is still the gold standard for evaluating of the colon.

It is a great imagin: Ct scan is one of the best way to look inside the abdomen, showing images of all the solid organs(not hollow ones). So we can visualize the ovarian and uterine massess(like tumors, cysts, growths like fibroids).Yet we can not see small tumors in colon or even in the ovaries and uterus. So we end up using 2 different tests, adding ultrasound for uterus/ovay, barium to see inside the intestine/stomac.
