A member asked:

The skin between my legs looks like its full of dirt but even if i scrub and scrub it doesn't go away. i got it right after i got pregnant. what is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Melanin: Pregnancy hormones can cause the melanin cells in your skin to produce more pigment. This is more common on the face and on a line up the center of your abdomen. However, increased pigmentation can be seen almost anywhere. Another possibility is something called "acanthosis nigricans, " this is a velvety, hyperpigmented area on the skin that is a sign of Insulin resistance.
