Some doctors say traditional dmards have a little more than placebo efficacy in treating psoriasis and psa together. are they really ineffective?

Yes: Methotrexate and biologic agents such as enbrel, humira, Remicade and stelara (ustekinumab) are extremely effective for both the skin and joints. Other dmards are less effective although Plaquenil can occasionally help.
