Schedule EEG: This is a recording of electrical activity of brain, like an electrocardiogram evaluates heart. Unique that a cat scan would diagnose epilepsy if large lesion is absent. Abnormal eeg activity will assist your doctor in arriving at an appropriate diagnosis.

Brainwaves!: Dear daniellea, eeg looks at the electrical activity of the brain (brainwaves). Ct scan can tell if there is a structural changes in the brain (tumor, stroke, bleed etc), but it cannot look at the brainwaves. Seizures are the result of abnormal electrical activity in brain so eeg would be helpful. It can detect asymmetry in brainwaves and show abnormal discharges. Hope this helps.
