Anxiety: Each have their benefits but Lexapro (escitalopram) is used primarily for anxiety and depression. Beta blockers have multiple functions, anxiety being one. It looks like your physician in trying multiple medications to give you more help throughout the day and treat on multiple fronts (which is a good idea).
