Left side of my tongue is in pain as if i bit my tongue. my throat gets sore and then i get a headache. happens a couple times a year, heals in a week?

If you: Haven't done so it would be wise to let a physician see this when it is acute. Have you noted an ulcer on the tongue when this occurs? Almost sounds like herpetic stomatitis/pharyngits but difficult to tell without examining. It tends to recur, and recur in the same location.
