Not Sciatica: The sciatic nerve runs down the back of the leg. The sensation your are describing could be due to a disk problem in the upper part of the lumbar spine, a hernia causing a nerve in the area to be irritated it a hip joint problem. This may require physical therapy to prevent worsening. You should discuss this with your doctor.
