Preeclampsia: You are not spared the risk of preeclampsia even if you are "healthy". Preeclampsia is relatively common, especially in 1st pregnancies. Heart palpitations do not make it more likely. Some things that increase your chances. Are diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, kidney disease or a family history of it. Most women who get preeclampsia during pregnancy are normal women with normal pregnancies.
