Alcohol is a : Vasodilator or vasoactive product, which can make the skin vessels of your head and body to dilate and increase blood flow in those areas. When blood flow increases, your skin appears red and hot, or blotchy. You may have develop a sensitivity to alcohol, or is the combination of alcohol with other vasodilators. Most likely you won't have problems if avoiding alcohol for a while.
