A member asked:

Biopsy for cd117 stain for mast cells came back as 'a mild increase in numbers of positively staining cells within the lamina propria' wt does itmean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Mild increase in mast cells may not be meaningful depending on the context of the clinical picture. You may wish to consult the pathologist who examined the biopsy tissue for a more detailed interpretation.
