Sprain?: You need to make sure it was a sprain and not a small fracture. If the x-rays were read as negative but you still have symptoms you may need an mri. You may benefit from seeing an orthopedist or sports specialist.

Evaluation time: 12 weeks after a routine sprain, you should be returning to sports and running. It may be something that just needs a little physiotherapy or it could signal that the injury was worse than you originally thought. Either way, it is time to be evaluated so you can get back to your desired activities.
