I have been on paxil (paroxetine) 20mg for 1 month recently i was switched to zoloft 50mg. how long does it take for zoloft to kick in? 3-6 weeks from starting paxil (paroxetine)

It varies: Zoloft ; Paxil (paroxetine) are similar medications with similar mechanism of action so you are not really starting at ground zero again. All the same, i usually have patients give the new medication 3-4 wks before deciding to change it or increase the dose. Individual response to anti-depressant medication varies quite a bit. There may be some trial ; error to find the right med for you. Hang in there.
