Maybe: There are several reasons that platelets may be high. Iron deficiency, bleeding (even a heavy period), inflammation, and a myeloproliferativeve disorder are among the more common. It's probably worth confirming that the level is high with another blood count before further evaluating. No need for a whole month to go by before repeating.
