Go to the ER.: Warm compresses to stye 3 to 4 times daily and antibiotic eyedrops. It is usually caused by bacteria. If the stye persists, it may have to be drained. You can go to the emergency room to get it treated with a prescription medicine. If it is recurrent or persistent, an eye doctor will be your best bet.
