No simple answer: There is no simple answer to your question. Some may benefit from cortisone injections whereas others may require excision.Sometimes excision is followed by a short course of radiation. Unfortunately some of them have a high rate of recurrence. I would recommend seeing a plastic surgeon in your area.

Keloids.: Two options here. One would be steroid injections into the keloids, hoping they shrink over the long term. This is not always effective. Second, they can be cut out, but the problem would be that the healing from the resection of a keloid can, of course, produce another keloid. Discuss with Dermatologist, but may be wise to just leave them be.

Several methods: Depending on the size you can inject intralesional steroids dermatologists often use this method. It may help flatten the keloid a bit Sometimes a plastic surgeon can cut out the keloid and suture the area closed carefully . Its possible a new keloid will form but occasionally they do not return

Improve, yes...: But get rid of, no (this applies to all scars.) true keloids can be very difficult to deal with. They are more common in people with darkly pigmented skin and are characterized by scarring that exceeds the boundaries of the original wound. Numerous options exist including pressure, steroid injection, low dose radiation, and others. See a plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

Not that I know of: Keloids are tough to treat even in the hands of medical experts. Using natural remedies will be even harder. I have seen balms and creams to get rid of moles, warts and other skin lesions. I believe those are some kind of acid, which causes a chemical peel of the lesion. If this were done to a keloid, it would likely make it worse. Be careful.

Many treatments: There are many ways to treat keloid including steroid injection, surgery and radiation therapy. None of them are full proof, however so have a frank discussion with your doc to get a feeling for what your chances are for a good result. Dr t.
