Fitness Usually Good: Having a high level of fitness is typically a good thing. However, it has been said in extreme endurance athletes that they appear to age quicker. This has been attributed to depleted one's alkaline and anti-oxidant reserves. A specific diet focused on alkaline ash foods, such as wheat grass, chlorella, (green drinks) may help. The biggest effect on acid-base balance in the body, is breathing.
