Help for Acne Scars: Dark spot or hyperpigmentation from acne is addressed by three things ideally, tretinoin to exfoliate, hydroquinone to lighten (i prefer 4%) and ipl to ablate the pigment in the lesions. Then sunblock always, always, always. Repeat. Scarring can be mild to deep and severe. Fractional ablation for mild scarring, deep scars may require full ablation or excision.
