Possibly: If it has, necrotic tissue should be removed. If it hasn't, infected tissue should be removed. Please see your dentist as not treating this can have serious consequences.

See a dentist ASAP: Yes that means the nerve is dying or dead, necrotic tissues if left untreated, can cause serious problems, that tooth should have a root canal treatment if it is save able , or removed if not.
