Should i go under anesthaesia for first cystoscopy?

Usually not: Cystoscopy is well tolerated with local anesthetic jelly placed in the urethra. If a bladder biopsy or other procedure is planned,or hydrostatic distension then anesthesia or IV sedation is almost always necessary.

No: Can be done with a local anesthetic so why risk general anesthesia.
