Personal trainer: A personal trainer is a great idea if you are new to working out. Get checked by your PCP first to clear you for strenuous activity. You can build muscle mass in your legs and other muscle groups to keep you strong and mobile. You can also improve your cardiovascular fitness, blood pressure, blood sugar, mood, etc. They have classes at most gyms you can socialize and have fun. Flexibility/balance.
