Hard to know: "germs" are generally bacteria, which are everywhere and are, for the most part, normal and harmless. Depending upon what the wipes contain they may slightly reduce surface contamination, but there are always millions of organisms left behind. Some feel that children who are allowed to be exposed to these organisms build up better immune responses than those who are overprotected.
