A member asked:

3 weeks since simple fibula fracture and small sprain. shouldn't swelling be gone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Persistent swelling after these kind of ankle injuries is the most common complaint. Periodic elevation above heart and head as well as reduced standing and walking can help. Compressive hose, ace wrap, ted hose, or ankle sleeve can also help. Eventually the swelling will stop, but give your body time to heal.
