Depends: It depends on how badly your nail was injured. If it does fall off the nail almost always grows back. Incidentally, if you have bleeding under the nail, identified by blue-black color and pain, this is easily relieved by drilling a small hole in the nail. Your doctor knows how to do this safely and with little discomfort. Afterwards, you'll feel much better.
