Possibly capsaicin: The curcumin ; resveratrol are anti-inflammatory ; anti-oxidant with neuroprotective effects. There is a study suggesting capsaicin may damage neurons in 10 day old rats. I know of no evidence it can damage brains in humans; many eat peppers without obvious signs of brain damage but capsaicin might cause mild brain damage in some: http://onlinelibrary.Wiley.Com/doi/10.1002/cne.902960310/abstract.
