Brace and Phys Thera: An ankle sprain is an injury to your ligaments, not bones. It needs to be taken seriously to allow the ligaments to heal at a normal length. If you keep injuring it, your ankle may become unstable and require surgery to fix. An ankle brace or taping will allow some activity.
