Yes: Ankle sprains usually get better within 2-8 weeks. If the pain and or instability persists (non painful swelling can last for months) see an orthopedic doc, sports medicine doc or a podiatrist for evaluation and treatment. You may only need a plain xray to rule out a bone injury and pt . Mri's can be ordered and surgery sometimes indicated.

Yes: It should have healed by now. You could also see a podiatrist.

Chronic ankle sprain: 3 months after an ankle sprain, most of your symptoms should be improved. If you are experiencing giving out or locking and catching these may represent ligament instability or cartilage damage. Chronic synovitis or swelling can also be a source of your pain. I would see an orthopedic surgeon with continued symptoms such as these.
