Might be: There is definitely a reported relationship between inflammatory bowel disease (uc and crohn's) and pancreatic insufficiency. It isn't entirely clear why. Proposed mechanisms include (a) the same auto-immune process that attacks the bowel attacks the pancreas (b) repeated episodes of pancreatitis some of which may be medication side-effects. You may need Creon for life.
