It depends: Ast and alt are nonspecific markers in the blood that can be elevated normally or secondary to liver and other tissue dysfunction. There are multiple reasons why ast/alt may be elevated and there is no one general way to reduce these numbers. Ask your doctor why these levels are elevated.
