It depends: It depends on what type of "things" are getting into her eyes. They eyes are very resilient and secrete tears that wash most small particles out of the eyes. Generally, it is ok to rub your eyes at any time but it doesn`t really help get anything out of the eyes.

After 30 min of flying, I get dry, bloodshot eyes. Don't wear contact lenses on flight. I use refresh dry eye drops but the redness stays. Any ideas?
