Herpes infection: The most reliable test is direct culture of the lesions. If you have had it in the past then we can rely on the clinical presentation of blisters associated with burning pain and itching. Some people might get outbreaks less often than others. Usually stress, other infections, menstrual period for example may trigger an outbreak. Get in contact i with your gyn provider if you need treatment.
