Trauma?: Did you fall on or injure your knees? As you age, it is normal to get mild discomfort in your knees secondary to aging changes. Rarely, bilateral knee pain or stiffness can be a sign of an autoimmune connective tissue disease. The best treatment is to keep moving and try mild pain relievers such as acetaminophen. If you have continued stiffness see a doctor for further evaluation.
