Unlikely: The negative, suction pressure from smoking is not ideal for healing. Unfortunately, gauze would not prevent the negative effects of smoking. There is a risk of infection, dry socket, delayed or poor healing of the extraction sites. Good luck and hope you recover quickly. If you would like to quit smoking, some patients have been successful using E cigs.
