A few points: You can eat right after the numbness wears off. chew on the other side for a few days. Only leave the gauze in for soaking up bleeding. When bleeding either minimal or stopped, gauze no longer needed. Remove gauze while eating. If you have extractions done by an oral surgeon, you will receive a complete list of postop instructions.
