A member asked:

How long after a tooth extraction should i be seeing signs of blood on guaze.extraction was tues and been smoking with guaze in and no sign dry socket?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Smoking: If you smoke, all bets are off. Smoking delays and alters healing, not to mention that it will eventually kill you. You shouldn't need gauze for more than a few hours. If you are still bleeding today, 3 days after the extraction, you need to see the Dentist or Oral Surgeon for a reexamination.
