A member asked:

Salivary gland biopsy. dr. made an incision no salivary glands. dr said may have atrophied did 2nd incision & found glands. is it consistnt sjogrens?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A normal occurrence: I assume it was a lip biopsy. The initial biopsy just had no glands in it. Glands are scattered in the lip and it is not unusual for a biopsy to not contain any glands. They did not atrophy. That is nonsense.
