Not always.: Depending on the type of hospital infectious diseases may be associated with high mortality rates. An example is a reference hospital with a significant proportion of immunosuppressed patients including patients with cancer on potent chemotherapy, transplant patients, patients with cystic fibrosis, all of them at high risk for complicated infections.
