Yes: adolescents who begin smoking early, before they have achieved their full growth, are shorter than their siblings who do not smoke. Smoking reduces blood flow to many organs, including to bone, and impairs their growth. Smoking also impairs healing, and people who smoke who have bone fractures or bone surgery are very slow to heal, and sometimes do not completely heal at all.
