Why is adhd considered a learning disability? help please?

It isn't : Adhd is an neurodevelopment disorder. People with adhd and without a learning disability can learn well if they can pay attention. The 2 often coexist, leading to confusion.

Not a LD: ADD and ADHD are not learning disabilities. However they can interfere with learning by interfering with the ability to focus, pay attention and avoid distractions. They are accompanied by learning disabilities that may take until 3rd or 4th grade to be apparent in up to 50% of affected children. Executive function disorders are common.

It is not: The occurrence of true LD in patients with ADD runs about 30-40%, however, it is not by itself a learning disability. Much of the extra attention/work done by schools will lump these kids in with the LD kids because they often need modifications to their teaching plan. They are considered qualified for such services under the Other health impaired (OHI} label.
