A member asked:

I had a pink lesion on my arm biopsied i was just wondering under the dermascope she said she could see negative networks what does this mean thanks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Atypical finding: Assuming she meant negative pigment network. It is an abnormal finding in dermoscopy which when identified is more suspicious for the possibility of melanoma. However, wait for the biopsy results before getting too worried. Dermoscopy findings (depending which source you read) only correlate with the biopsy result only about 75% of the time.
