Gout?: Colchicine is used to treat gout. I have no knowledge of any benefit for its use in the treatment of costochondritis. Costochondritis is usually treated with anti-inflammatories, oral steroids, therapy or steroid injections. Usually resolves in 4 months but can become chronic. Colchicine does not have a high incidence of gastric pain or gastritis.
